Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using pitch-it.uk or the Pitch It mobile application, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using the platform on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Our Services

Pitch It provides an online marketplace connecting guests seeking camping, touring, glamping, and holiday accommodation ("Guests") with landowners and campsite operators ("Site Owners") who list pitches and accommodation on our platform. We act as an agent facilitating the booking contract between Guests and Site Owners; we are not a party to the accommodation contract itself.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Each person may hold one personal account; Site Owners may hold one business account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms

4. Bookings and Payments

When you make a booking through Pitch It:

• A binding contract is formed between you and the Site Owner upon booking confirmation
• Payment is processed securely at the time of booking via our payment provider
• Pitch It charges a service fee, displayed clearly before you confirm your booking
• Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable
• You will receive a booking confirmation by email; retain this as your proof of booking
• Site Owners are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, availability, and pricing

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Each listing displays the Site Owner's cancellation policy, which forms part of your contract with them. Common policies include:

• Flexible: full refund up to 24 hours before check-in
• Moderate: full refund up to 5 days before check-in
• Strict: full refund up to 14 days before check-in; 50% refund thereafter

Pitch It's service fee is non-refundable unless the cancellation is due to our error. In the event of a significant inaccuracy in a listing, guests may be entitled to a full refund at our discretion. Cancellations must be made through your account dashboard.

6. Site Owner Obligations

Site Owners using Pitch It agree to:

• Provide accurate, honest, and up-to-date listings including genuine photos
• Honour confirmed bookings except in genuine emergencies
• Comply with all applicable laws including planning permission, licencing, health and safety, and insurance requirements
• Hold adequate public liability insurance (minimum £5 million recommended)
• Comply with UK GDPR when handling guest personal data
• Maintain pitches and facilities to the standard described in their listing
• Not circumvent Pitch It's booking system to take direct payments from guests sourced through our platform

Pitch It takes a commission on completed bookings as agreed in the Site Owner Agreement. Payouts are made to your registered bank account within 24–72 hours of guest check-in.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or Site Owners
• Attempt to circumvent our booking or payment systems
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from our platform
• Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Impersonate another person or entity

8. User Content

By submitting reviews, photos, or other content you grant Pitch It a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and reproduce that content on our platform and in marketing materials. You confirm you own or have permission to use any content you submit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Pitch It acts as an agent and is not liable for the acts or omissions of Site Owners or Guests
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing or the quality of any accommodation
• Our total liability to you shall not exceed the value of the booking in question
• We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Pitch It platform, brand, software, and content (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by Hale Technology Limited. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account with immediate effect if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or where we are required to by law. You may close your account at any time via your account settings. Termination does not affect any confirmed bookings.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. For consumers in Scotland and Northern Ireland, local consumer protection laws continue to apply.
